The browser does the document work
When you choose a file, the browser grants the page access to that selected file. This website reads it into memory and performs the operation on your device. The released tools do not send document bytes to a conversion server. Opening the site still downloads its pages and software from the hosting provider.
Local does not mean invisible to everyone
Hosting logs may record your IP address, the requested page and the time of the request. Browser extensions, malware, screen-sharing software and other people using your computer can create risks outside the website. A local processing design reduces one kind of exposure; it is not an absolute security guarantee.
Draft recovery is a deliberate choice
Document and spreadsheet editors offer optional local recovery. Turning it on stores editable content in browser storage. That content can remain after the tab is closed. Avoid enabling recovery on a shared device. Download your work, turn recovery off, and use Clear local data in the footer to remove saved drafts and preferences.
Downloaded copies have their own lifetime
A downloaded document is an ordinary file in your browser download location. Clearing website data does not delete that download or your original. Manage those files using your operating system. Private browsing changes storage lifetime but does not remove files you explicitly download.
